Beautifully designed and made by indigenous women in Bolivia, each throw pillow cover tells a story from local scenes and daily lives. It is about family, food preparation, farming, hunting, harvesting, fields of blooming flowers and plants, birds and parrots and other wildlife. You can feel the simplicity and joy through the artisan's eyes. Swatches of colorful fabric are cut into different shaped, some padded to create a three dimensional view, are stitched down on a black or dark navy background. The characters and objects jump to life and call upon our innate sense of being; it is indeed a captivating form of art. This handwork can never be replaced by machine programmed stitches because each stitch has a piece of the artisan's love. Each piece is unique and the story comes alive. A tag is attached to the pillow signed by the maker, many with a message in Spanish. Once the item is sold, reorder of a similar design will take 4-8 weeks.
GIFT FOR CONSERVATION - Three US Dollars (US$3) from the proceed will provide funding to CLB Foundation in Bolivia for local community support and parrots conservation. Thank YOU!
